William Pattison is an up and coming Bay Area artist. For nearly nine years he has exhibited his paintings and drawings, as well as demonstrated his art, at the San Mateo County Fair's Fine Arts exhibit. He has also on several occasions garnered commissions from people to do portraits. He has created a real stir in a few art circles with his multimedium layering technique, in which he uses up to six different mediums to create a single picture.
William is self taught in the drawing and painting of people. His early training was in still life and landscape drawing and painting. But, it has always been drawing and painting people that has interested him. It was after an instructor told William he could never possibly handle human subjects that he discontinued his formal training and taught himself to draw and paint people.
Though he has yet to win any awards for his art, William has garnered much public praise.
